Experience the rebirth of a Historic Landmark: Banging Gavel Brews is bringing a Brewpub to The Vogt Building, Downtown Tinley Park, IL.
It’s been an exciting rollercoaster these last few years working with everyone from the Village of Tinley Park Building Commission, our architects, our contractors as well as Illinois’ State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and the National Parks Service (NPS) in establishing our plan for preserving and restoring this beautiful structure while transforming it into a brewpub.
Here you can see what the current state of the building. We’ve opened up walls, tore up carpets, studied the floors, checked the foundation, and identified what things need to remain intact. We have leaned heavily on our restoration team’s expertise as they prepare our plans and work with SHPO and NPS to finalize the blueprints and details for the building before the work can begin.

We’re researching history to establish the look of the future brewery, basing it on the Italianate-style from the time the home was built, as well as identifying acceptable ways where we can add a modern twist to make it our own. Seriously geeking out over all it can be!!
